'Two Swans in a Pond' by Annette Galstaun
Through her works Annette invites you into her world and imagination. A place where mermaids bathe in moon pools, iridescent birds glide through pastel skies, and the most beautiful guardian angels glow in pink and gold.
Annette Galstaun b. 1980
Annette was born and works in Sydney. Annette works mainly in gouache, acrylic and soft sculpture, and her works have a lyrical, dreamlike quality reminiscent of Marc Chagall. Like Chagall, Annette is drawn to religious and mystical subject matter – figures from old fairy tales, Disney films and the natural world. Confidently, she flattens, deconstructs and distorts all her subject matter. She heightens colour and exaggerates forms. In the process she transforms the most familiar scenes into alluring curiosities.
