Emily Crockford is an award-winning artist with an intellectual disability whose work is celebrated for its bold, assured and sensual style. Drawing on the natural environment, Australiana and the people around her, she creates vivid, lyrical compositions defined by vibrant colour, intricate pattern, and a distinctive balance of energetic expression and quiet detail.

Emily has exhibited widely across Australia and is known for major public art commissions, including Oysters Eating Rainbows (2020), an 81.5-metre mural for the WestConnex M5 motorway. She is a three-time Archibald Prize finalist (2020, 2022, 2023), with portraits that capture an intimate and imaginative view of her subjects. She has also exhibited in the Salon des Refusés, which is considered the ‘alternate Archibald’ at S. H. Ervin Gallery. Emily’s work is held in significant public and private collections, including the Art Gallery of New South Wales, and she maintains an ongoing creative collaboration with artist Rosie Deacon.
